Sadly, thousands of animals are abandoned in and around the country every year. Most are abandoned during the holiday season when people who don’t know what to do with them decide to leave them behind, either on the streets, in the countryside, at petrol stations or tied to a post. The saddest part is that the number of abandoned dogs increases year after year, and, unfortunately immunity allows those people who abandon or abuse animals to do it again. We believe, therefore, it is essential to pay special attention to the ever increasing problem of stray animals.
The main objective of our association is to find, set up and manage local shelters for the collection and maintenance of abandoned animals in order to administer proper health and hygiene control and promote the adoption of all the animals housed, dogs and cats.
As well as giving shelter we also provide food, health care and sterilize the animals to prevent indiscriminate breeding but our ultimate goal will always be to find caring homes, which will give them the quality of life and the love that these animals deserve.
Other important objectives of APADAC are:
1. To promote the humane treatment of animals and to prevent neglect and mistreatment of animals.
2. Knowledge and awareness for the prevention, neglect and abuse of animals and to pass on these fundamental rules so we can be educated on this highly important issue.
3. Report animal abuse.
4. Develop animal welfare projects and financial support for the purpose of our organization.
5. Campaign for animal welfare, public awareness, sterilization, and outreach in schools, etc.
